Semi?Crystalline Polyetherimide Microparticles via Liquid?Liquid Phase Separation and Precipitation

چکیده

A novel approach for production of polyetherimide (PEI) microparticles by liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) and precipitation is demonstrated the effect used solvents acetophenone dimethyl phthalate on obtained powders outlined. Interestingly, method allows one to produce semi-crystalline particles, while PEI known be hard crystallize typically in amorphous form. To get a deeper understanding behavior polymer-solvent systems, cloud point curves dependence system composition are determined. The particles thoroughly characterized. They highly semi-crystalline, as proven DSC X-ray diffraction an ideal feedstock powder bed fusion polymers with laser beam (PBF-LB/P). Polymorphism and, thus, thermal characteristics like melting point, can tuned solvent. After heating precipitated samples above their temperature subsequent cooling fully polymer obtained, which assessed advantageous respect mechanical properties (toughness) PBF-LB/P-produced component from this feedstock.

Synthesis of semicrystalline nanocapsular structures obtained by Thermally Induced Phase Separation in nanoconfinement

Phase separation of a polymer solution exhibits a peculiar behavior when induced in a nanoconfinement. The energetic constraints introduce additional interactions between the polymer segments that reduce the number of available configurations. In our work, this effect is exploited in a one-step strategy called nanoconfined-Thermally Induced Phase Separation (nc-TIPS) to promote the crystallizat...

Preparation and characterization of polyethylene/ glass fiber composite membrane prepared via thermally induced phase separation method

Grinded glass fiber (GGF) embedded high density polyethylene (HDPE) membranes were prepared via thermally induced phase separation method. FESEM images showed that all the membranes had leafy structure, indicating a solid-liquid mechanism during phase separation. The results of EDX and TGA analyses confirmed that the fibers were dispersed in the HDPE matrix uniformly. Normalized water flux of t...

Supercritical antisolvent precipitation of PHBV microparticles.

The micronization of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) from organic solutions using supercritical antisolvent (SAS) technique has been successfully achieved. SAS experiments were carried out at different operational conditions and microspheres with mean diameters ranging from 3 to 9 microm were obtained. The effect of CO(2) and liquid flow, temperature and pressure on particle...

Rapid, Room-Temperature Formation of Crystalline Calcium Molybdate Phosphor Microparticles via Peptide-Induced Precipitation

Nature provides numerous examples of organisms that synthesize intricate mineral structures (biominerals) with microto nanoscale features through the use of specific biomolecules. While such control over mineral formation under ambient conditions exceeds current man-made assembly technologies, the known biominerals (only about 60 different minerals have been identified to date) do not possess c...

Estimating Historical California Precipitation Phase Trends Using Gridded Precipitation, Precipitation Phase, and Elevation Data

Climate change projections for California indicate reduction in the percentage of precipitation that falls as snow, and increase in the percentage that falls as rain, due to warmer temperatures in the future. Previous work has shown overall decreases in rainfall / snowfall ratios for the western US over the last 60 years. Of interest in this study is the quantification of snow/rain ratios for s...
